volume of a rectangle

Friends i have some simple problems to learn how to find the volume of a rectangle. Observe the problems below, it also contains the formula which is used to find the volume of a rectangle.

Problem 1

Find the volume of a rectangle prism whose length l = 4 m and height = 6 m and width = 3m?

Sol:

Formula: volume of rectangle = l × h × w

= 4 × 6 × 3

= 72m2

Problem 2

The wooden box has volume 400m, width 10m and length 20m, Find its height?

Sol: h = ?, w = 10m, l = 20m

volume of rectangle = l × h × w

400 = 20 × h × 10

h = 400/200

h = 2m

Working on simple geometry problems, i also was thinking of working on simple algebra problems in my next post, do you have some sample questions that you want me to discuss....? Let me know that.

You can follow my blogs for pre algebra tutoring. I hope this was useful.
